Tape-in Extensions

Raw hair tape-in extensions in Indian, Cambodian and Burmese textures. Single donor hair, pre-taped onto thin wefts that sandwich a section of your own hair and sit flat against the head.

      Why choose tape-ins?

They are the quietest extension method we sell. There is no braid underneath, no bulk at the root, and nothing to feel when you run your hand over your head. That is why they suit fine hair, which tends to show the outline of anything heavier.

      Why raw hair for tape-ins?

Tape-ins stay in for weeks and get washed, dried and styled as part of your own hair. Processed hair struggles with that: once its coating goes, the strands roughen and catch. Raw hair with intact, aligned cuticles behaves like your own hair does. It also means the same set can be re-taped and reused, where processed tape-ins are usually one fitting and then landfill.

How many pieces do I need?

A full head usually takes 40 to 60 pieces depending on your density and the length you are going for. They are fitted in pairs, one weft above and one below a thin section of your own hair.

How long do they stay in?

Typically six to eight weeks, then they need moving up as your own hair grows. That is a salon appointment rather than a full re-install.

How do I make them last?

Avoid oil-based products at the root, because oil is what breaks the bond down. Everything else is normal care.

      Which textures do you carry?

Indian Wavy, Indian Kinky Straight, Cambodian Wavy and Burmese Curly. Kinky straight blends most naturally with blown out afro hair, Cambodian wavy carries the most body, and Burmese curly is the one for natural 3b to 4c curls.

      Tape-ins or clip-ins?

Tape-ins stay in for weeks and sit flatter, so they suit everyday wear and finer hair, but they need fitting. Clip-ins go in and out yourself in minutes. Sets here run £175 to £345.
