The Difference Between Single Drawn Hair and Double Drawn Hair
When selecting hair extensions, it's essential to understand the differences between single drawn and double drawn hair. At Schwan Hair, we offer a variety of high-quality hair extensions to suit your needs. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you make an informed decision.
Single Drawn Hair
Single drawn hair is the most common type of hair extension available. It contains hair strands of varying lengths, providing a natural, tapered look that mimics the natural growth of human hair. This means the hair bundle will have a thicker top and gradually thinner ends, indicating roughly 30% shorter hair strands within a bundle.

Features of Single Drawn Hair:
- Natural Tapered Look: The varying lengths of hair strands create a natural, tapered effect.
- Authenticity: Hair is left as collected, preserving its original form.
- Varied Lengths: Reflects the donor's natural growth cycle, with some hairs being shorter and some longer.
Schwan Hair Indian Hair Collection:
The wefts in this collection are cut directly from the donor's head and wefted exactly as collected, preserving their natural state to maintain authenticity. Unlike double drawn hair, single drawn wefts are not manually aligned to create uniform thickness, and they do not receive a blunt cut like our Vietnamese or Cambodian hair in the Double Drawn Collection.
Double Drawn Hair
Double drawn hair is meticulously processed to remove shorter strands, ensuring that almost all the hairs in the bundle are of uniform length. This results in thicker, fuller ends and a more polished appearance, without compromising our single donor business model. Double drawn hair extensions are often more expensive due to the additional labour involved in sorting and aligning the hair strands. Our double drawn wefts also feature their signature blunt cut to ensure even thickness from top to bottom. They are perfect for those who desire maximum volume and a sleek, luxurious look.
Be cautious of super double drawn bundles! These are not single donor hair extensions and are prone to tangling due to containing mixed hair from multiple donors. They do not last as long as single donor wefts, and though pretty to look at are generally low quality hair and often chemically processed to tackle the tangling. This is why we do not offer them at Schwan Hair.

Features of Double Drawn Hair:
- Uniform Length: Almost all strands in the bundle are of the same length ca. 80%, creating a fuller look from top to bottom.
- Thicker Ends: Thick from top to bottom with a blunt cut.
- Luxurious Appearance: Double drawn hair offers a sleek and polished finish, ideal for glamorous styles.
Schwan Hair Double Drawn Collection
Our Raw Vietnamese, Cambodian and Burmese Hair is part of our Double Drawn Collection. These extensions are designed to be thick from the top to the ends, featuring a signature blunt cut that enhances thickness throughout the wefts. Double drawn hair ensures uniform length and volume, providing a luxurious, full-bodied appearance. This type of hair is ideal for those seeking a sleek and polished look, providing you with the thickest, most luxurious extensions available.

Choosing the Right Hair for You
The choice between single drawn and double drawn hair ultimately depends on your personal preference and the look you wish to achieve. If you prefer a natural, tapered look with more movement, single drawn hair from our Indian Hair Collection is an excellent choice. On the other hand, if you desire thick, full ends and a polished appearance, our double drawn hair from the Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Burmese Collections will meet your needs.
